When are Chanukkah & Purim?
These celebrations are not Torah-based Holy Days, nor were they of Zadokite observance in the Dead Sea Scrolls. These are cultural holidays that are solely designated by the religion of Judaism, and they should be observed according to the authorized Jewish calendar of Hillel II.
We certainly do not see any conflicts with Scripture if you either choose or choose not to celebrate these holidays. They are religious memorials of Jewish history and victory, and they are undoubtedly significant times of festivities and joy for honoring the preservation of the Jewish people, their culture, and their religion. Consequently, we believe it is improper, inappropriate, and even dishonorable to our Jewish brethren, their culture, and their religion if one transposes these holidays onto the dating of the Zadokite calendar system as it is not the authorized calendar for Jewish times of observance.
