When Did Y'shua Consider a Day to Begin?
The fundamental understanding of "when the Biblical day begins" continues to be a lively topic of discussion among brethren. Many people have very definite conclusions about how a "Day" is defined in Scripture while others continue to question and investigate various opinions. So what might our Messiah have to say about it?
Does our King and High Priest offer a clear solution to this ongoing debate?
A dear brother with a keen eye pointed something out to us as he was reading in the Gospel of Luke.

For more information regarding the use of the vernal equinox, we wrote another short article comparing it to the equilux:
Equinox or Equilux - Which Do We Use? (download HERE)
And for more clarity to understand what an equinox actually is, we posted this blog entry at The Sabbath Calendar Journal:

How Do They Relate to Yah's Calendar Work?

This 12-page article delves into the material of "New Year" a little more deeply. We address what we see as some misconceptions surrounding the basic criteria as laid out in the scrolls. We are seeing attempts to "correct" or adjust the calendar with methods that are (in our opinion) based on faulty assumptions. These "fixes" introduce unfounded alterations that cause divergence from the timeless perfection of this ancient calendar. Yah created time with an aspect of Divine Patterning that is absolutely unbroken and perpetual within the schematic framework of the Zadokite Sabbath Calendar just as it is.

A New Year - Declaring the Glory of Yah! We were moved to write about the importance of coming in the "spirit of Elijah" this year, "Declaring the Glory of Yah" to fellow Believers and non-Believers alike. The changes and challenges that lie ahead are opening up many opportunities to serve our Lord and Messiah with the full knowledge that His Promises are true throughout time! |
Removing the Cover - Lifting the Veil
The veiling (covering) has been in place, and the unveiling (uncovering – lifting of that veil) is about to occur. We are at the cusp of the intense prophetic revelation that we have awaited. The “unveiling” is upon us. (download HERE) Y'shua's Bride - What Will He Find When He Comes for Her? (25) ... as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
(26) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, (27) That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Eph 5:25-27 |
"That he might" - Is this merely wistful thinking? Or is Paul alluding to something of a greater magnitude? Is he saying that Y'shua will expect to acquire only a purified "church" as His Bride? How does the balance of Scripture and even the Hebraic Bridal Custom relate to this Ephesians passage?

Matthew chapter 13 is known for a series of parables taught from the mouth of Y'shua himself. When reading this chapter recently, a phrase jumped out at us in the verse that follows the Parable of the Sower -
"For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath." Matthew 13:12 This resonated to us about the Parable of the Talents, bringing our attention to studying both parables together, and giving us a more insightful look at bearing Fruit of the Spirit. So here is a new 8-page article, "Comparing Parables," in a free .pdf download. |

Some People Don't Celebrate Christmas ... BUT WHY???
When people find out we don't celebrate Christmas, we get that puzzled look, then the spoken or unspoken question falls in the air, "... But Why???"
One can see the wheels turning in their minds: "There is a great deal of joy and festivities, laughing, family fun, and a warmth in the air this time of year. How can you turn away from the beauty of this season?" It is a difficult query to address. By the standards of this world and the estimation of the majority of people in this country, this is certainly the most enjoyable season of the year. Yet on a personal level, ... read the full article

Is it a problem if a High Holy Day, an Annual Sabbath, falls on a Saturday, the weekly Sabbath?
We see this happen fairly frequently. It's just how the days and their counts work out sometimes on various calendars.
When this happens, then the Holy Day will normally take precedence over the weekly Shabbat.
It's still a Sabbath, so it's really not a problem - right?
Is it okay for one type of Sabbath to blot out the other?
