"For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." Galations 6:8
Confusion has become prevalent today as numerous versions of the Zadokite calendar are being presented. It seems that some brethren have their own take on the formulation of this calendar "gem" that was unearthed in the Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS). Why are there differences, and in some cases, why are they so aberrant when the criteria is clearly documented in the DSS?
There is one main reason, and we cover it in a new 2-part series of short articles. This series incorporates information from and further clarifies our previous writing titled Determining the "Beginning of Months". Part one is titled "Calendar Intercalation - When and How?" It provides some basic information regarding the necessary periodic intercalation of the Zadokite Sabbath Calendar. Part two is titled "Finding the Equinox and Jerusalem Time Data." It provides even more detailed assistance in determining and navigating intercalation. It includes internet links for those who wish to research the data for calendar development themselves, and provides step-by-step information for the calendar formation process. Each of these articles are available on the Short Articles webpage under the Sabbath Calendars heading for your future convenience and reference. As always, you are welcome to print them, and please email us with any questions at [email protected].
